Native from Auvergne in the center of France,
Julie Moulin studied flute in her home town with teachers Cyril Coutier and Hervé Hotier, and then in Paris with Vincent Lucas.
In 2006 she attended the class of Philippe Bernold at the CNSMD of Lyon, where she studied during 4 years and also had lessons with Julien Beaudiment and Gilles Cottin.
In 2010, just after graduating with flying colors, she won the second flute position in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. Before that, she had already a good orchestral experience, playing with the Opéra de Lyon, the Orchestre d’Auvergne, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra…
Despite her young age, Julie already played with the best conductors : Mariss Jansons, Bernard Haitink, Valery Guergiev, Pierre Boulez, Lorin Maazel, Ivan Fisher…
Passionate with chamber music, she founded in 2006 the Quintette K, a wind quintet awarded in several international competitions.
