Gabriel Tacchino
was launched on this international career by Herbert von Karajan who engaged
him to play with Berliner Philharmonisches Orchestre, the Orchestra
Filarmonica della Scala di Milano and at the Wiener Festwochen.
Following this remarkable début, he played under some great conductors,
among them Pierre Monteux, André Cluytens, Erick Leinsdorf, Jascha
Horenstein, Riccardo Muti, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Armin Jordan, Hiroyuki
Iwaki, Stanislas Skrowaczwsky, Raphaël Frubeck de Burgos, Eliahu Inbal,
Laurence Foster, Marek Janowsky, Kent Nagano, Hubert Soudant, Uri Segal,
Leopold Hager, Evelino Pido, Danièle Callegari, Dmitri Liss, Theodor
Guschlbauer, Yoon Kuk Lee, Bruno Aprea, Pierro Bellugi, Mickael Schonwandt,
Antonio Ros Marba, Isaac Karabtchevsky.
During his career, he has performed as soloist with most major orchestras :

Philippe Bender, Cyril Dietrich, Jacques Mercier, Pascal Verrot, Marc
Piolet, Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
As the sole student of Francis Poulenc, he had the singular honour of being
able to absorb at source an exceptional tradition as well as unique insights
into the phrasing and style of this Master, so that his interpretations have
become works of reference.
Having taught the piano for several years at the Conservatoire National
Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he decided to devote himself exclusively to
his performing career, while giving Masterclasses in Canada Japan, Korea and
Switzerland.
He has a particular fascination for chamber music, in which he has been
associated with Isaas STERN, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Patrick Gallois, Maxence
Larrieu, Marielle Nordmann, Michel Lethiec, Bruno Rigutto, Gary Hoffmann,
Patrice Fontanarosa. Gabriel Tacchino plays particularly in duet piano-violin
with Pierre Amoyal, recital 4 hands and duet 2 pianos with Sandrine Tacchino
in quintet with Quatuor Enesco, Fine Arts Quartet and duet 2 pianos with
Janis Vakarelis and Maurizio Moretti.
He continues to be invited to the principal International Festivals such as
Montreux, Lausanne, "Sviatoslav Richeter" in Moscow, Prague, Wiener
Festwochen, Amsterdam Concertgebouw Summer Festival, Gulbenkian in Lisbon,
Athens, Besançon, Menton, Istanbul, Bresciae Bergamo, Dinard International
Festival, Pablo Casals Prades.
Meanwhile his numerous recordings for Emi, Erato, Vox and Verany have
received a rang of "Grand Prix du Disque", "Victoires de la musique",
"Diapasons d’Or".
Since 35 years, he’s the creator and artistic director of the festival " Les
Nuits Musicales du Suquet" in Cannes, France.
In 2006, he becomes professor at University of Fine Arts and Music (Geidai)
in Tokyo.
He teaches in Internationale Sommerakademie of Universität Mozarteum
Salzburg. He recently became professor for “concertist level” in Schola
Cantorum in Paris.
Gabriel Tacchino entreprend une carrière internationale lorsque Herbert von
Karajan, l’ayant entendu, l’engage pour jouer avec l’Orchestre
Philharmonique de Berlin, l’Orchestre Alla Scala de Milan et au Wiener
Festwochen.
A la suite de cette rencontre exceptionnelle commence une collaboration avec
les plus grands chefs. Il sera également le soliste des plus prestigieux
orchestres.
Seul disciple de Francis Poulenc, il peut s’enorgueillir, à juste titre,
d’avoir recueilli à la source une tradition indiscutable ainsi que des
précieuses indications sur le phrasé et le style de sa musique : ses
interprétations font référence.
Après avoir enseigné le piano plusieurs années au CNSM de Paris, il décide
de se consacrer uniquement à sa carrière pianistique.
Poursuivant sa carrière de chambriste au sein de formations et avec des
partenaires qu’il affectionne, Gabriel Tacchino se produit notamment en duo
piano violon avec Pierre Amoyal, en récital quatre mains avec Sandrine
Tacchino, en quintette avec le Quatuor Enesco, le Fine Art Quartet.
Ses enregistrements pour Emi, Warner Mucis, Vox, Verany ont été récompensés
par divers « Grands Prix du Disque », « Victoires de la Musique », «
Diapasons d’Or ».
Il est depuis 35 ans, le créateur et le Directeur Artistique des" Nuits
Musicales du Suquet" à Cannes.
Il est nommé, en octobre 2006, Professeur invité à la Tokyo National
University of Fine Arts and Music.
Il enseigne à la Internationale Sommerakademie à l’Universität Mozarteum
Salzburg. Il est également nommé professeur pour le niveau concertiste à la
Schola Cantorum de Paris.
