Ho is professor of Violin at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Netherlands and at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen. She has an international class and is frequently jury member of violin competitions.
As a graduate from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (Davina van Wely, Vera Beths) and Indiana University, USA, (Maurico Fuks) she is both trained in historic performance practice as well as the traditional romantic violin school. Her first performance in the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, at the age of 13 was broadcasted live on national radio. She won several awards in national competitions like The National Violin Competition “Oskar Back” and the Radio competition. She was concertmaster of the Jeunesses Musicales World Youth Orchestra and performed the Manhattan Concerto of Matthus with this orchestra on an extensive tour in concert halls like the Philharmonie in Berlin. Her performance of the Beethoven Concerto in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw was described as “… an extravert and charming, outspoken solistic personality…” (The Volkskrant).
At age 25 she had to stop her own playing career because of a stroke. She developed a special interest and expertise in teaching. She was assistent to Mauricio Fuks at the Chateau de Champs masterclass in Paris and the Sommer Akademie of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. In 2013 she was invited to teach for a month at Jacobs school of Music, USA. In April 2015 she will give her first masterclass in China. She is committed fully to the long term development of her students and their preparation for auditions and competitions. Many of her students have (leading) postions in European orchestras.
In her teaching she has a special focus on making young musicians own practice skills meaningful and effective. She gave a lecture on this subject at the international conference of the European String Teachers Association. Furthermore she developed a course “Effective Practice” which is now an elective at the Royal Conservatoire for all music students.
She plays a Lorenzo Ventapane (Napels, 1802).
