Marie-Josèphe JUDE - Piano  CNSM Lyon
English Biography: Marie-Josèphe JUDE, pupil of Aldo Ciccolini from the age of 13 at the Paris Conservatoire after her brilliant beginnings at the Nice Conservatory, was fostered also at a very young age by Georgy Cziffra, who allowed her to perform in public during his own recitals.
Consequently she benefited from the advice of Jean Hubeau in chamber music, before winning, at the age of 16, her First Prize in piano at the Paris Conservatory and also a performance degree in harp at the Ecole Normale in Paris. After earning her First Prize in chamber music, she was immediately accepted into her third cycle of studies (with Jean-Claude Pennetier).
In 1986 she met Maurice Ohana and became one of his favourite performers. It was a decisive meeting which set her on the road to the interpretation of contemporary music while, in the meantime, she continued to work with Gyorgy Sebok, Maria Joao Pires and, above all, with Maria Curcio Diamand, a very famous teacher, one of Schnabel's disciples. She prepared her for the international competitions. She was a finalist at the Clara Haskil competition in 1989 and obtained many engagements in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
She played with the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Orchestre National d'Ile de France, the Orchestre Poitou-Charentes… the BBC Scottish Orchestra, the Basel Symphonic Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique of Luxembourg…
Marie-Josèphe JUDE is also a fine chamber musician who has played with Augustin Dumay, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Laurent Korcia (violin), Lluis Claret, Henri Demarquette, Xavier Philipps (cello), Michel Portal and Pascal Moraguès (clarinet). With Jean-François Heisser, piano she has founded a piano duo. She has appeared in important festivals : Château de Lascours, La Roque d'Anthéron, Montpellier, Aix-en-Provence, Auvers-sur-Oise, Vichy, Colmar, Saoû chante Mozart, Vézère (France) and abroad : Bath (England), Arjeplog (Sweden), Locarno and Lugano (Switzerland), Brabant-Wallon (Belgium) and Quebec (Canada).
She has recorded 5 CDs dedicated to Brahms (Lyrinx) ; they were awarded the best distinctions from the specialised press. A. Dutilleux/Ohana CD was also released for Harmonia Mundi. Her CD dedicated to André Jolivet was awarded a Diapason d’Or (February 2003).
