Maxence
Larrieu, born in Marseille in 1934, is the best living flute player. When he
was very young, he begun to study flute at his town conservatory with the
teacher Joseph Rampal. He obtained his diploma with full marls and in 1951
he wins the fisrt price at the International Geneva Competition.
He begins a brillant career as soloist flute, performing recitals and concerts with the best
orchestras (The Music, The Venetian Soloists, English Chamber Orchestra, The Zagreb
Soloists etc.) and he begins to make a recording of the most of his flute repertory for
the most important record companiesin the world winning twelve Grand Prix du Disque.
Nowdays he alternates his concert activity and his teaching at the Superior Geneva
Conservatory.
